Rough Week for the PAC-10

Well, the game I attended this past weekend was great: the Beavers won 45-7 against Hawaii of the WAC. Nice! They were 1 of only 3 PAC-10 victories this week. The PAC-10 was 3-7 this weekend. Both Oregon schools won their games and USC, of course. Let’s hope for a complete rebound in Week 4.

Cheer For Your Respective School, State, PAC-10

The one thing that I found very irritating at the game was the fact that the crowd at Reser booed loudly whenever the announcement was made about Oregon, or cheered that they were losing. Where’s the respect that is due to Oregon for beating Purdue? Come on fans. You need to cheer for your conference. I understand the whole Civil War rivalry but really, don’t the Beavers fans want to play the best possible Ducks’ team? Does a blow-out really make an exciting Civil War game? I’m sure there are many that disagree. I just tend to think that our conference needs more support. Its fans shouldn’t be booing against one of its fellow teams.

As both an Oregon and Oregon State fan, I would like to give a cheer of “well done” to both teams, making the state of Oregon proud this weekend. The Ducks fought a mighty battle against Purdue, bringing down the long-time college football giant at their home. The Beavers gave an excellent performance, showcasing many improvements and confidence against Hawaii, giving the hometown crowd something worth cheering for. The chants of “Sammie” during punt returns, made us all smile, as we were sure Sammie Stroughter enjoyed them too.
