Hal Cowan, the Editor in Chief,  is a 40-year veteran in the field of sports information, serving in that capacity in both collegiate and professional sports. Cowan spent 37 years as a sports information director in the Pacific-10 Conference, the last 29 at Oregon State University. He also served as SID at Central Michigan University, University of California and University of Oregon before retiring from Oregon State University in 2004.

During his SID career, Hal received several honors. He served as President of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) in 1994-95. Cowan has been selected to the CoSIDA Hall of Fame, the All-American Football Foundation Hall of Fame and Linfield College (his alma mater) Hall of Fame.

He received the most prestigious honor given to a CoSIDA member when he was named recipient of the Arch Ward Award in 2002. During his career, Cowan has also served as an analyst for football, basketball and baseball on both radio and television.
